What Video Card are you using in the Sony? It's not a laptop is it?
The newest drivers for both nVidia and ATI cars have very good tools
for handling TV now. nVidia let's you tweak to your hearts content.
Does the Samsung have DVI or Component input?
Most of the TVs I've seen with VGA input are really flaky using that
input.
