Re: Probably a stupid question! XP Media Center Edition 2005

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks, Nigel, for your advice!

I wonder if I could trouble you with a few more questions. I didn't do
enough research on the XP MCE 2005 and didn't realize that it was an
operating system. If I decide to do the root and dual boot, will I be able
to access the programs and icons in XP Home? If so, can you point me to a
website (or if you wouldn't mind explaining it) that will instruct me on the
procedure?

There is only one real nagging issue with reformatting the hard drive. I
have Microsoft Office for Teachers and Students and I understand that it can
only be loaded onto three computers. I have it loaded onto my old computer,
my wife's computer, and this computer. If I reformat the hard drive, will I
be able to re-authenticate Microsoft Office for this computer, or will
Microsoft think that I am trying to load it onto a fourth computer because I
have loaded the new operating system XP MCE 2005?

Finally, given all of that, do you think I would be better off just sending
XP MCE back to the vendor and search for other software?

I sure do appreciate your advice. I'm just a novice and I may be getting
into waters too deep!

Thanks!
