Hi Betsy,
"Mouse freeze" is usually very difficult to solve. However, try the following:
"Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Display", "Settings" tab, Click on
the "Advanced" button. Under the "Troubleshoot" tab, downgrade hardware
acceleration by one notch. Apply this setting and see if this fixes the
problem. If not, reduce the hardware acceleration by another notch. Continue
this process until your system becomes more stable.
"Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Display", "Appearance " tab, Click on
the "Effects" button. Untick all the options and see if this makes any
difference.
If you have an ATI graphics card, set the AGP speed under "SmartGart" to 4X
and turn "Fast Write" off.
Make sure your computer is not running out of memory. Delete temporary
internet files, clean up your temp folders and defrag your hard disk(s).
Good luck.
