Re: Live TV Automatically Scrambles

I haven't be able to disable Hyperthreading, but the system used to work, so
Hyperthreading must have been on. I am beginning to believe that it is not a
driver problem because the problem is so sever that no company would have
released a driver this bad.

I downloaded/installed CATALYST 5.7 Display driver/control panel
5-7_mce_extension_240085
5-7_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_24085
5-7_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_24085

As a result I have tried a range of drivers and the Device Mgr. reports that
I have version 6.14.10.6553. I have also tried 6483, 6517, and even an
incompatible one called 0289 (6.14.10.0289). Changing drivers seemed to
improve the stability, but after about 30 seconds of clear TV the picture
broke up into squares.

If I, or anyone else ever solves this problem, I will provide this forum
with feedback. At the moment, the only reasonable solution is for me not to
use MCE to record TV. I will probably buy a stand-alone DVD recorder. Maybe
in a few years when MCE develops into a more reliable and more easily
configured operating system, or my level of knowledge improves....
