The first thing to do is to check the Application, System, Security, and
Media Center Event Viewer logs (right click My Computer --> Manage) for any
errors corresponding to the time that you tried to connect and then post
them here.
Couple more questions:
- What do see on the Extender after you turn it on and before you get this
message?
- If you pressing the (More) Info button on your MCX remote right after you
turn your MCX on, what does it say its IP address is?
