I am having the EXACT same problem. I don't have the linksys brand, but
the HP version (I think they are identical though looking at the shell
of the extender...just different colors).
Mine has worked practically flawlessly since we got it during
Christmas. I recently unhooked it though to connect a computer to the
TV for a slide presentation from some visitors. Since I hooked the
Extender back up, I don't think it's worked since. I'll be calling HP
to see if they have any ideas, and will post back what I find. I also
have reinstalled and tried switiching from my wireless A to a wireless
G connection, still no good. I don't have Zone Alarm or any firewall
on my system other than what's built into XP.
My problem usually shows the "standby/hibernate/busy" message after
about 1 minute of being on (like I'll try to watch a show and a black
screen comes on and then the message...then it goes back to the menu).
If I just leave it on the menu, it still gets the message after a while
and just cycles through the menu and then error message, every few
minutes or so.
Please post back if you hear of any fixes. I was wondering if it's
been caused by one of the auto-updates from my XP MCE operating
system.
