Mixing Alive Mic with DVD/CD Auido

I would like to be able to have a dvd play (both audio and video) from a
media center based PC will mixing audio from a live mic with the dvd audio
simultaneously with output to my speaker system. I have a Mackie 1202 sound
board I thought I could use to input the mic or other instrument sources into
the media center. Can I use a Layla or Creative's Audigy to support the
Mackie input? Has anyone tried this type of configuration before?
