KB893066 Update

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

If the KB893066 update installs on my machine, I am no longer able to:
a.) send emails through my smtp server
b.) access the ftp or web based access for uploading files to my homepage
server.

Something about this update blocks access to the server. Anyone else have
this problem?

I set the update to "hide this update" and it stayed off my machine for
about 2 months, but I came home from work today and waa-laa... there it was
installed again... and yet again all the same problems occured.

Suggestions?
