Wow.. Looks like our Dell systems are identical - except for the processor -
mine is 3.0 GHz.... At any rate, I have had the same 3% and hang thing
happen on about 1/4 of any shows I've attempted to burn to DVD +RW. Most of
the time it works fine, and I'm pleased with the results when it does. Were
you EVER able to use the DVD +RW discs on that Dell system?
I have only tried DVD+RW discs so far, as I have no real need to permanently
archive any of the shows I record. Interesting that the DVD-R worked for
you, as on my system the actual writing to disc doesn't start 'til well after
the 3% point (around 60%, I think). Wondering how your system "knew" the
disc was different by 3%.
You mentioned Nero... did you get that with your system? Mine came with
Sonic MyDVD pre-installed.
Anyway, I'm glad you found a solution... still hoping there's one out there
for me.
