Re: TV Tuner Not Installed Error Msg. Please Help

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Ron Said:
" I also got the error by having a vcr plugged into the tuner box and
no
cable attached and opening MCE. I had to restore my system back a few
days in
order to fix it. A friend of mine had to restore the laptop from the
source
dvds."

I just got the exact same error after I disconnected the cable wire and
hooked up composite cables to my WinTV-PVR-150MCE . I was going to try
and capture analog video from a camcorder. It should be noted that
this happened after I ran the TV signal setup wizard again. I tried
everything including uninstalling the card from device manager and also
running an uninstall utility from the 150MCE CD. the card no longer
appears in device manager. My system restore is turned off. Now I
can't even get my computer to recognize the card. If I try and install
the card using the add hardware wizard from control panel and navigate
to the driver from the CD, the add hardware wizard progress goes all
the way to the end, then the computer crashes. I get the "your
computer has recovered from a serious error" message upon restart.
Anyways, I hope I don't have to reformat. Any imput would be
appreciated.
