It won't work. There is no provision in the firmware for watching a DVD remotely. The Media Center Extender remote follows the same reference design as any MCE remote as for what controls should be on it. The DVD button is just an artifact that really shouldn't be there. The Extender Remote for the HP extenders is quite probably the same remote that they ship with their MCE PC's.
