It could become corrupted because IE crashed, and it wasn't updated correctly. There really is no way to repair it. You can log into the built in Administrator account, and then delete the Index.dat and all TIF files. It will automatically be recreated. Its tough to delete Index.dat (and other files in the TIF) when you're actually logged onto the account that they're for.
