Your Ethernet card is looking for a DHCP server
You can change this - go to the Properties dialog box for the card, choose
"Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click the Properties button, then unselect
"Obtain an IP Address Automatically".
However, you will need to manually set your IP information if you do this.
BTW, this is a Media Center newsgroup, this question would be better posted
in a general XP group or a Windows networking group.
