Re: Still jerky video.. Tips needed..

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Summarizing from your results in the other thread:
- MPEG file content plays fine on MCX
- TV content is jerky when played on MCX

I can think of a couple potential causes:
1) The TV stream being created by your TV tuner is a little wacky
2) Your PC's network card is not happy about sending higher bit-rate content
across the network (it's likely that the MPEG file you played was lower
bit-rate than TV content)

Next steps related to item 1:
- What TV tuner card do you have in your PC? Are you running the latest
released driver for it?
- Do you have a friend with a Media Center PC? If so, could you copy a TV
show from that friend and try playing it on your MCX?

Next steps related to item 2:
- What Ethernet tuner card do you have in your PC? Are you running the
latest released driver for it?
- If you run the MCX Network Performance Tuner (Start --> All Programs -->
Accessories --> Media Center --> Media Center Extender Network Performance
Tuner), does it tell you that you have sufficient network bandwidth?
- If you record a TV show at Fair quality, does it playback okay on your
MCX?
