hi dana, i dont currently have any tuner cards in the pc and have no usb
devices connected to my usb ports, i have a single 6gb ide drive connected
to ide channel 1 and a single ide dvd writer drive connected to ide channel
2.
i have run memtest on the pc and allowed it to do 10 passes with the result
of no warnings or errors.
as i have posted below, i have tried an install of windows xp sp2 and this
installs fine for a clean boot with no hiccups, infact the pc has been
running windows xp sp1 for around 2 years with no blue screening, so looks
to me to rule out possible ram issues.
if you have any other suggestions then please post them
many thanks,
paul.
