Major Video Problem - Help!

I am running Windows Media Center 2005 on a Dell XPS Gen two. The system uses
software decoding (i am fairly certain its a cinemaster DVD decoder, i will
check when i get home if neccisary for trobleshooting).

A quick note: all of the dvds and video files I have attempted to play in
MCE play flawlessly in Windows Media Player ON THE SAME COMPUTER when i open
them outside of media center edition, which is what makes the problems
suspect, since if it plays in WMP it should play in MCE.

Problem: Not a single dvd or video file will play in MCE. When i attempt to
play a DVD I recive a "decoder error instructing me to check my decoder and
restart the computer". When trying to play any format video file in MCE, the
screen just goes black for a few seconds, flickers once or twice, and then
goes back to the MCE video selection screen, withour providing an error
message or indication that anything wronge just happened.

This sucks, someone please help!
