no audio on live tv (used to work, but now fails)

hi,

I setup WMC successfully on a Shuttle pc (realtek onboard audio). After
setting it up I had video, tv and audio working perfectly...at which point I
imaged the hard drive to have an easy way of going back to good setup in
case of a future problem!

However, 6 weeks later, the audio died on live tv and recorded tv (audio
works fine on dvds, avi and i hear the beeps as i click the WMC menus).

After messing around with settings I admitted defeat and reimaged the drive
with my trusty good install.

....

well, after reinstall the problem remained!!! Still no sound on live tv!!!

Any ideas what is causing this to fail. Could it be my TV card has died?
Or perhaps the digital tv transmission format has changed? Oh, and im in
the UK, south east. Tv card is a Hauppage Nova-t digital tv card with WMC
drivers.
