I had this same issue when I upgraded from 2k4 to 2k5. Then I went back and
read the directions that shipped with the upgrade from HP. There was a step
during the upgrade to go out to the internet to check for updates of
something (sorry to be so vague, been a while) the directions indicated I
needed to skip that step. Once I reinstalled 2k4 and upgraded again
following the directions everything seemed to work fine and has since.
