I'm relatively new also - can't we use software to convert the dvr-ms file
to AVI or another format and copy that onto a CD/DVD and play it on other
devices?

I'm sure we will see programs like ReplayMusic but for Video soon enough...

Is it the actual DVD burning software that encounters the copy protection
flags?
