Re: Look over a proposed MCE2005 system and comment? (Quite long)



One thing I noticed (because I went through this), you will need to buy a
MCE remote to get the IR receiver for the 680. Alternately, if you can find
just an IR receiver to buy that functions with MCE, you don't need the whole
kit.

Logitech is absolutely ZERO help in making their remote (that they advertise
as "The Best MCE Remote") work with an MCE system if you don't have the MS
or Phillips remote.

I'm not sure why you can go buy a $30 MCE remote and it includes the
receiver as part of the package, but a $150 MCE remote can't come with a
part that makes the remote useless (for MCE) without it.

Sorry for the rant, I'm still irritated with Logitech,
