I originally used NeroVision v3 to convert my dvr-ms files to DivX so I can
burn a full DVD of DivX files and play them on my DivX enabled DVD player
(Philips DVP642). However, halfway through the converted file I experienced
audio-video sync issues. In addition, I was unable to change the audio
encoding rate using NeroVision because the settings button was grayed out
despite choosing from different mp3 audio codecs.
With the problems above, I switched to TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress 3.1.5.8. I didn't
experience the above problems and this version supports dvr-ms files. It
converts them to DivX and other file formats beautifully. It even has a handy
batch encode tool to process multiple files at once.
