HPM1170N/MCE05+HDTV Wonder+ATI X700Pro

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have all of the above which came with Intervideo hence I'm asuming their
decoder. I went from an X300SE to X700 Pro since, when before, I was only
getting ABC and FOX which I'm guessing are broadcast in 720p. The other
channels being broadcast in 1080i were coming in choppy, so I upgraded to
the X700 Pro ATI graphics card. When I went to trie to play MCE at first it
had a Decoder error with no picture on Live TV and now, when it does play in
HD, I can't get rid of the task bar at the bottom when I go to maximize
MCE05. The picture and sound are a bit better in the 1080i channels but
still not perfect. Before the sound was not synchronized, now it's better
but not perfectly smooth. Also, I can't seem to load up any of the Catalyst
software from either the HDTV Wonder card or X700Pro graphics card. Should I
just forget about the whole thing and go back to choppy 1080i channels using
my X300Se until I figure out what component is causing the HDTV Wonder card
to not work at it's optimum? My PC came with an Hauppauge 150 and it seemed
to work OK for analog but HD is so much nicer when it works. Any experts out
there figure out what my problem might be? Any laymen out there want to take
a stab at it?
