media center extender will not work!!!

I purchased a brand new dell computer and a media center extender. The
extender connects to my pc just fine. I can get all my photos through the
media center just fine. However if I try live tv, my video, my music, or
radio I get a error message that states " An error has occured while using
your media center extender. To continue, reset your device. For more
information about resetting your extender, refer to your hardware
documentation." I first checked with lynksys about this and they sadi it is
a hardware issue with the extender. I exchanged the extender for a new one
and I still get the error message. I am using a d-link 624 router and get
great signal strength. Again I can view my photos just fine. What is going
on????
