Linksys Media Extender Connection Challenges

I installed my Linksys unit successfully on on a Dell w/ factory installed
MCE2005 without a problem. I then upgraded my Sony RZ44 with the recently
released upgrade software for MCE2005 from 2004. I uninstalled the Linksys
extender and attempted to reinstall on the Sony.
12 hours later I cannot get the Linksys to connect to the Sony PC!!
Everything seems to be connecting from the PC end. I can upgrade the firmware
without a problem. From the Linksys end the extender message states:
Connecting to the Media PC
2004.12.11.01.17.08
After approx. 1 minute an error message appears:
The connection between the MC extender and the Media PC was lost due to one
of the following reasons (error code 00000002)
The PC has been shut down or is in hiebernation (it's not)
The PC is in heavy use....... (it's not)
Running Norton Internet Security (tried disabling)
I uninstalled the norton software to no avail. I do not believe that the
dialog box is poping - at least between the time I run from one room to
another it's not there. I checked for items in #3 with no avail.
After searching other forums and I've seen that there are many who have
encountered this issue I have and in each case the forum thread dies with no
resolution. For me every 1-2 minutes the extender tries to connectwith the PC
without sucess. Here's the message in the event manager:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: TermService
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5700
Date: 4/6/2005
Time: 10:12:04 PM

Description:

failed.(Google this)

Unless there's a fix on the horizon I may need to return my extender and
wait till the next gen is released or until I can upgrade to something that I
can test before buying,
All firewalls turned off
Hardwired - both ends
Have uninstalled and reinstalled extender software and reset the extender
image.
HELP..... I've fallen and can't get up.
