I've read somewhere that the 250 has video CD encoders, which are not needed. I would go with the PVR-150, that's the card I recommend to most everyone and they all love it.

I wouldn't recommend the ATI TV Wonder Elite unless you're going to use its S-video input connection; i.e. have a cable box/sat/digital terminal that can spit out s-video. I coughed up the funds for a PowerColor Theater 550 Pro and am disappointed. From what I have seen and heard, the Hauppauge PVR-150MCE is by far the best all 'round for picture quality if you're going to use coax. While the image of my PowerColor is sharp, there is noticeable and annoying pixellation-like artifacts in high-motion shots or in darkly lit scenes. I use the coax because that's the only option I have. The sound volume from the PowerColor (and the Elite from what I hear) is about 25% less than other cards out there.
My 2 cents,
Dave

Replace your with Avermedia Tuner with the new ATI TV Wonder Elite tuner with the 550 chip. You should notice an improvement it you do then replace the other tuner with another Elite. You can read about the new tuner at the ATI Website

I have a Dish satellite connection, MCE 2005 with following configuration: ATI Radeon X700 PRO HDTV (50") connected via DVI Tuner One is Avermedia Ultra 1500 Tuner Two is ATI E Home Wonder
The picture on TV through the media center is bad . It looks weak, colors
drained, no sharpness, brightness apears too high and have gone through all
settings.
If i connect directly from satellite box to TV the picture quality is very
good.
How can I improve the quality of picture? help please.
