that's what I was saying. I changed it(my computer) to "obtain IP
automatically" after I had made it static to change the 3420. That's what I
was saying.

I did all of that. the router now has a new static IP. My computer now is
set to a not static IP. I turned off all of the WPA security (temporarily)
just to see if I can get it to connect.

Didn't mess with the encryption... but I have it disabled for now (and I
disabled the router's security - WPA as well).

I did then connect my computer directly to the 3420 (with obtain IP on for
the computer not the 3420) and did restart. That is what I was saying. I
did all of that and I still didn't get a connection. And I wasn't able to go
to the 3420 administration.

That is why I wrote, because I did all of those things and it still didn't
connect like I thought it should. Which is why I'm loosing hair.
