It's been a few weeks and I revisited the problem I was having. Things
generally worked, but once every couple days I needed to reboot my
MediaCenter PC before I could connect. I was browsing some other info on the
web the other day and came up with some info that helped.
I was reading extremetech.com and saw an article relating to the beta of
MS-Anti-spyware. Apparently It has problems playing nicely with Media
Center. The last time the connection problem occured I took a look at my
system logs and saw error messages dealing with Anti-Spyware. So, I stopped
the application and then restarted the Extender service without rebooting the
PC. The X-Box Extender connected immediately. It's been a few days now and
I've not had any problems since.
So, long story short, MS-Anti-Spyware has problems with The Extender Service.
So far I am loving Media Center Extender and this fixed the only problem I
have been having.
