I just set up a Media Center PC with a Media Center Extender for the X-Box.

The PC is an AMD 64 3000+ w/1GB RAM and a GF6600GT. It's attached to a
Linksys WRT54G Router by cable. The Wireless network is using WEP for
security and set for 802.11g only (not mixed)

The X-Box is upstairs from the Router. It's connected to the network using
a WET54GS5 wireless Switch. on the switch, I have set it's priority to be
"critical" so that get's priority over the PC sharing the same switch. The
Switch is using a High Gain Antena and is actually only a few feet away from
the router with just the floor between them. Signal strength is almost
always at 100%.

Here's my problem. It is sometimes problematic to connect to the Media
Center PC. It will often connect on the first try, but, more often than not
it will take several attempts. Usually, I can just leave it alone for 5
minutes and I will connect just fine.

When I am connected, everything works extremely well. The Menu System is
very responsive. Live and Recorded TV streams extremely well with no pauses.
I can even Play online games Like EverQuest while using Voice Over IP apps
on the PC sharing the switch with the X-Box with no Performance loss in the
Extender. I have no problem staying connected either.

So, any idea's why it seems to have difficulty in connecting even though it
seems to run extremely well once it is connected?
