Display Changed please help

Hi. I am new to Media Centre edition, but after messing around for a few
hours I have noticed something strange and wonder if any of you can shed any
light on the matter.

The problem is that when you load windows (not the media centre) my display
runs fine (17" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD (the default one built into my
laptop)) which runs via a 128mb GeForce FX Go5700. It runs in 32bit colour at
a resolution of 1440 X 900).

When I come to load windows media centre it appears to degrade the quality
of the resolution. While the resolutions appears to stay the same the display
goes blank and then comes back on. I notice at this point the colours aren't
as good as in windows desktop and the image becomes really sharp and crisp,
not good at all. I havr re-ran the setup for media centre and other things
but still can't stop this from happening.

If I window the media centre and then re-full size it it keeps the windows
desktop quality until the screen refreshed at which point it returns to the
lower quality.

When i exit the media centre and go back to windows the screen refreshes
again and returns to the windows default.

Can anyone help or shed some light on this matter?
