live tv problems

my live tv used to work until recently, but now it will not start or will not
scan for channels (it will scan upto 30% but then stops scanning) if i click
onto the live tv icon, nothing happens (but the software doesnt lock up),
also it will not recocnise the fact that the antenna is connected to the pc.
i can use intervideo win dvd to record live tv so i dont think its a problem
with the tuner card?!
