I tried the NVIDIA decoder. That caused the live TV and recorded TV screens
to freeze as soon as an image appeared.
With the Intervideo recorded TV plays for about 10 seconds, live TV plays
until I change the channel then it freezes. EXCEPT, is some cases, the live
TV works fine on certain stations...most notably all the local access and
home shopping stations work on live TV without a problem as does MSNBC. But
most other stations simply freeze up or don't show up at all. I know it
sounds weird, but it's true. To clarify, if I open MCE and ask to play live
TV it will play whatever channel is on until I change channels or pause and
try to resume.
As for the DVD, yes I am playing it through MCE no problem.
To skirt the issues I use WINTV when I want to watch live TV on the computer
and either play recorded programs through Media Player or send them out to my
Xbox media extender where they work fine.
