Maybe because the cable companies don't particularly _want_ people to record
their HD shows. Although I have heard that a cable card will someday be
supported in Media Center...

    ... I know that you do not need a cable card to receive the over the air ... channels via cable since the cable companies are not allowed to encrypt ... I have had a Motorola 6412 since before they had its dual tuner software ... its fixing its problems being able to successfully process and record 2 HDTV ...
