Excellent. Thank you. I'm in the process of downloading and expect good
results. If I don't post again everything was fine.
You are correct on your diagnostics. I have called Gateway many many times
over the last few days. They have the worse service I ever received. I feel
like I bought a Yugo from the 1980's. I will never buy nor recommend Gateway
again based on the phone support over the last few days. I cannot understand
how they can sell the product and not be able to support it. I had 3
separate people leave me on hold never to return. I had others tell me it
was Microsoft's problem and I should contact them. I tried to explain that
is not how it works. They hung up.
Nigel, I apoligze for coming off abrupt. Your answer though simple is
obvious and generally a last resort. They will take the machine back for a
15% restocking fee.
I then have the problem of getting a new machine and updating all the
patches/ fixes drivers and moving files once again. Not something I wish to
do if there is an easy fix.
I find that almost anytime I encounter a problem, someone has arleady had
the problem and places such as this solve the problem.
I sent Gateway a letter with my opinion on their service. I'm sure nothing
will come of it.
