You may not be using the right drivers for you VIDEO card. My ATI
Radeon 9600 didn't work with drivers on either XP MCE CDs or the CD that
came with the 9600 (I could see the XP desktop, but not any video from
MCE). But once I installed the Radeon 9600 MCE drivers (downloadable
from the ATI site), it worked. Stock XP drivers are not adequate for,
and won't run, MCE (at least not in all cases).

[I do understand that the mid-December driver release for Radeon 9000
series products from ATI consolidated the XP and MCE drivers into a
single universal set.]
