This is the same problem I expereinced with my XBox Extender. Mine was
direct wired at 100Mbps. I was comparing it to the HP x5400 Extender I also
purchased which worked fine over the same exact connection. I spent days
trying to figure out the issue and found out that it was most likely the
video chip in my Xbox (to date MS has used 3 different video chips in the
Xbox). I even went out and purchased the Xbox Hi-def pack which didn't do
any good. I ended up returning my Xbox Extender for this reason and the fact
that it does not load the necessary bits to the HD (it runs off the game
media disk which needs to be inserted to run which is a joke and a huge
inconveinence).

I LOVE my HP x5400 Extender!!
