The redraw speed on the MCX on the XBox is brutally slow. Some days I think
I could draw the screen faster by hand. My MCX resource monitor isn't
reporting any hot spots though. The redraw of a screen when you press down
in the main menu, for example, takes anywhere from 20-40 seconds. When you
start navigating some of the My Music and My TV menus it takes up to a
minute! This can't be right because I can't think anyone would release a
product that responds like this.
MCE PC is 2.8GHz P4 HT + 1GB RAM + 120GB SATA HD using a D-Link AirPlus
Xtreme G DWL-G520. It's reporting a connection speed of 108Mbps with
excellent signal strength (less than 10ft away from the router through a
wooden floor).
The router is a D-Link AirPlus XtremeG 2.4GHZ wireless router with Super G
with Static Turbo and WPA-PSK enabled. It has been placed about 6ft away
from the TV and Xbox to ensure there is no signal interference with the
wireless connection.
The XBox is plugged into the router via 100Mbps ethernet cabling.
The install of MCE2005 is fresh and there is nothing else installed as of
yet.
Help, I want my Music and TV!
Colin
