Connecting Audigy 2 ZS to Kenwood VR-507 DTS, DD 5.1 Receiver?

Need advice with NEW Dell Dimension XPS Gen4/MCE 2005 system!

I cannot seem to properly connect my Audigy 2 ZS card to my Kenwood VR-507
Receiver. I am using a Sony optical cable from the Audigy's Digital Output to
the Kenwood's CD/DVD Optical Audio input.

I have selected S/PDIF in PowerDVD, and Digital Output Only in the Creative
Volume Control, but I still get no sound when playing Star Wars.

I would really like to get all my music, and audio to my receiver. Does the
S/PDIF only pass 5.1 DVD material, or can it send my mp3s too?

Has anyone been able to find some good, very inexpensive MiniJack-to-RCA
cables that will fit side-by-side on the Audigy card? I have tried both
cables, and adapters, but the handles were too large to fit in those three
narrowly spaced sockets.

Thanks,

J.T.
