Codec question

I've just switched to MCE2005 and have a load of programs that were recorded
using the WinTV250 software under XP.

If I play them in media player, I get sound, but no video - but if I play
them using the DivX player, I get video but no sound!!

I'm using the nVidia codec in MCE, and the files are .mpg. How do I make
them work again!!
