I have upgraded to the LiteOn s832 dual layer dvd writer, and I love it. I
have never seen anything burn a cd that fast, and it is much more reliable
when burning a full dvd than my original dvd writer. I have had no coasters
with my LiteOn, I had so many coasters with my hp writer that I started a
collection.

On the subject of starting clean with mce 2005, I upgraded to mce 2005 with
no problems and I did not reformat. I did have mce 2004 when I upgraded, but
other than that it should work fine.
