Bill,
I have exactly the same problem!!!
I tried talking to HP technical support last night and they were totally
useless. They first asked me to pay them $40.00 since my computer is out of
warranty. They also denied that this problem might be fairly generic and
claimed that they had heard nothing about any other users having issues when
installing the upgrade. Seems like HP should get their technical support
people to monitor this site.
I went and did a system restore using the HP install disk to get my system
back to normal, but I'm going to need to reinstall to get the MCE 2005
upgrade again.
I'm trying to understand exactly what you did to fix the problem. I tried
getting the latest driver from the NVidia Web site. That didn't work. I then
tried the latest version of the NVidia driver from MSoft. That didn't work
either.
What did you end up doing to fix this problem?
