Is there any software on your PC or on another PC on your network that
triggers something to happen every hour? (e.g. Virus update, clock sync,
etc.)

Also, have you tried connecting just your Extender to your PC over wired
Ethernet with no other PCs/devices on the network? The 304 error suggests
some sort of network problem, so eliminating as many variables as possible
would be helpful in diagnosing it.
