Hauppauge are you listening?

Right,

This is a plea to all the hardware manufacturers or anyone who can apply
leverage with them (Microsoft?).

Capture cards such as the Hauppauge PVR-250/350 etc are all very well
and good, but it's obvious that there are a significant number of users
who have no interest whatsoever in the RF inputs and associated tuners
on these cards. If you're connecting the MCE box to an external STB,
and let's face it a vast number of people are, then the last thing you
want to use is RF.

What would be far more useful is a wider range of inputs allowing better
quality connections to said STBs.

Surely there's a demand for a card from Hauppauge such as the 250/350,
except without the RF tuner and in it's place a set of RGB and component
inputs to complement the s-video and composite.

Such a card would retain the hardware encoder/decoder and drivers which
Hauppauge have earned a good reputation for, and would thus be ideal for
those of us wishing to hook up external STBs.

So how about it Hauppauge, or failing yourselves, anyone else care to
step up to the plate?

Does anyone else here want to offer their support for this request?
I've already sent an email about it to Hauppauge, but they've probably
binned it.
