All, forgive the newbie style questions.
I am wondering following;
1. What screen resolution setting is good to use when hooking up to a
standard 4:3 TV?
2. I am currently feeding the pc from the svideo out on my set top box, any
advantages or disadvantages in doing this vs. just using the coax from the
set-top box.
3. To get audio when using the svideo option mentioned above I am using the
analog audio outs on the set top connected to the PC audio input, again any
disadvantages or advantages of doing it this way vs. just using the audio
provided when using coax from the set top box?
I should mention that there is SPIDF out on the set-top box(** note: the
SPDIF out is not always active if the channel doesn't support digital audio
then the audio is not carried via this output, but rather via the analog
outs instead. If I am to use this option I would however have to convert the
SPDIF to an optical , not sure this would be worth the expense/time , or if
the conversion would make the digital audio degrade)
A little info on the cable provider may be helpful so here it is;
Cable is through Cox communications, it is digital cable service in the US.
Set top box is a Motorola DCT 2000
Thanks for any ideas , tips you have.
