There are many other applications similar to MCE. I am forever saying that MCE
is not the only game in town. It's very good for some things but other
applications give much better support for instance to DVB-S or DVB-T or support
of 101 different video formats or more hardware. Some applications are
commercial although none costs more than about $50. Other applications are
freeware. Most run on Windows although MythTV is an honourable exception on
Linux. Most have a time limited trial for free download. Try them out & see
which you prefer.
