My Music: lots of problems

I have a reasonable machine set up to be the Media Centre machine (1,536 MB
RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, SATA 153 GB and 149 GB, AMD 2600+) so I wasn't
expecting the problems I now have with the "My Music" section of MCE 2005.

The first is the amount of time it takes from pressing OK on the Media
Centre main menu to be able to do anything. Every single time it takes 18
seconds before any further action, because the list of 2,987 albums takes
that amount of time to display.

It's more than the 8 seconds the 21,967 songs lists takes.

Firstly, is there some way to get this to cache in the RAM that I bought?

This is far too much information, in any case. I know it's not possible
right now, but would it be possible when lists get to have more than (say)
200 items, to show a "virtual" menu of up to alphabetical items.

With the remote control menus this would make for a much simpler input
system, and a huge improvment to the usability.

Search

The search system for the music is unuseable. As each keypress on the
remote (not letter input, that can be four presses) insigates a search that
takes OVER 2 MINUTES to complete.

Please either there should be some way of stopping each search when a remote
key is pressed (why would you want otherwise), or a mode where you can enter
the text you want and press the OK button.

I was wondering if anyone at Microsoft has used a mobile phone with the "T9"
input. Something similar here would be brilliant.
