Just wondering if this would work out. I am building a MCE 2005 box, got MCE
installed with this hardware.(MSDN sub). Most of these are old parts from my
main machine.
-P4 1.8ghz (can be upgraded if needed, board supports a 2.8ghz)
-Intel 845 chipset main board
-768mb PC2100 memory
-120gb HD (7200rpm, 8mb cashe)
-MadDog Geforce 4 MX440 64mb with TV out
-On board sound (will be replaced with a Digital out soundcard)
-12X CDR (to be replaced with a DVD+R soon)
-33.6 modem (to pick up Caller ID for on screen display)
-10/100 Nic card
On Order:
-44-button MCE remote from newegg
-MCE250MCE
-MCE150MCE
Software (installed and ready)
MCE 2005 (with all updates)
System works 2004 (Just speed disc and Anti-virus)
WinDVD 6.1 Plat.
Do you think this config will work fine for a system that will only be for
the TV, this machine is only for this use.
Will a 250 and 150 work fine for a dual tuner setup ?
Is there anything funky with install on these ? Is it as simple as
Installing cards, installing drivers, then running the MCE wizard ?
As I am a newbie to MCE but, not a newbie to WinXP (network admin), is there
anything funky I should be looking forward to ?
Thanks !
dave
