I am having similar problems. I bought a new laptop and the windows messenger
V4.7 won't work. when I upgraded it to v 5, it works but in a funny way. I
had 22 contacts on my list but windows messenger only recognizes 16 contacts.
It won't allow me to block or unblock, if I want send an email, it goes
autamatically to outlook instead to internet explorer then hotmail. I also
noticed that it repeated names and in one of them exchanged the emails.
Finally, it freezes and I had to switch off my laptop physicaly and lost all
my work. I tried to call microsoft and they won't even bother to answer. I do
not want reformat my hard disk because I am not sure if this will ever solve
the problem and it is time consuming. Can some one help? thanks.
