I'll give a stab at this but you may not like my answer. First
answer...don't do that! Power the monitor off by hand when you're not using
it, and don't enable the monitor power save. Second answer...call Dell. If
the machine is only a week old, then Dell is the one that should fix it or
offer you new parts until it _does_ work. They're usually pretty good about
support and service, so hopefully _they_ have an answer...
