I would uninstall and re-install WinDVD.
Video drivers have also been known to cause problems. Many times,
manufacturers have MCE-specific drivers which may not be as up-to-date as
standard drivers, but have been tested on MCE. I find it's better to not
update graphic card drivers as frequently on MCE than I would on non-MCE
machines. You can try reverting your graphics driver with the OEMs recovery
disk. With both WinDVD and graphic driver back to out of the box condition,
things should work (assuming something else didn't interfere).
