To be fair, Microsoft didn't put together the HP MCE PCs - HP did. From
your descriptions, it seems HP used inferior TV tuner hardware. This is
something you should talk to HP support about. Maybe they can work out
something with you, e.g. by replacing the TV tuner card with a higher
quality one.
